Areas Of Expertise

New Habitat integrates Passive House approaches in the design of the building envelope of new residences and the retrofitting of existing homes to help our clients achieve substantial savings on their annual home energy budget and unsurpassed indoor air quality and comfort.

Our philosophy is to produce a design that maintains a balance between the clients’ needs and resources, carefully analyzing every aspect of the project to maximize the efficiency in the relationship between design, resources and materials.

We strive to achieve a final product that is both aesthetically pleasing and environmentally conscious, without compromising architectural integrity.

New Habitat incorporates sustainable, reused, recyclable and environmentally friendly building materials and design features as often as practical. In consultation with the client Daniella creatively integrates elements such as Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) flooring and cabinetry, Energy Star appliances, Low VOC (Volatile Organic Chemicals) for furniture, finishes, paint and interior materials and locally-sourced materials and services.

Few things in life represent such a win-win situation as making your home as energy-efficient as possible. In addition to the monthly savings a homeowner will experience on their energy bills, making your home energy efficient substantially adds to resale value. Solar, geothermal, high-efficiency HVAC systems, intelligent site planning and structure placement and energy-efficient design features are some of the ways New Habitat builds energy efficiency into every design.
